This Privacy Policy is maintained by StreetQuest to explain how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you use our website and mobile web app at streetquest.co.za ("the Service"). It applies to Quest Posters, Questers and anyone who visits the Service.

By using StreetQuest, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo and password.
• Profile and location data: suburb, city, GPS location (only when you grant permission), and verification documents such as ID or passport.
• Quest information: titles, descriptions, photos, deadlines, budgets and chat messages related to a Quest.
• Payment information: wallet transactions, payout bank details and Paystack recipient references. We do not store full card numbers.
• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, app usage and crash logs to help us improve the Service.

We use your information to:

• create and manage your account;
• match Quests with nearby Questers;
• process secure escrow payments and payouts;
• send push, email and SMS notifications about Quest activity;
• verify identity and run background checks;
• improve trust and safety, including ratings and reviews;
• respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.

StreetQuest processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Our lawful bases include consent, the performance of a contract, legal obligation and legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time, but this may limit your ability to use certain features.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only when necessary:

• With other users: profile names, ratings, photos and location data shared as part of a Quest.
• With payment providers: Paystack processes transactions on our behalf.
• With service providers: hosting, authentication, email, push notifications and analytics providers under strict confidentiality.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, court order or to protect our rights and safety.

We use encryption, access controls, Row-Level Security in our database and regular security reviews to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login details private.

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• object to certain processing;
• request deletion or restriction of your data;
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
